Whoo-ee are we sick of crappy AI Detectors! And we’re stomping our feet at the idea that em dashes are 100% a sign of content created by AI.
Seriously? Technology that can’t even differentiate between Medicare and Medicaid when it’s cranking out junk senior living copywriting is telling folks em dashes are AI?
As one of the very first content marketing teams dedicated exclusively to the senior care industry, we have long prided ourselves on creating unique copy.
Since our launch in 2011, we’ve taken great pains to never, ever go the easy route.
Every piece of continue we create is designed to meet each client’s specific goals, audience, tone, and voice. And, yep, we use em dashes. Often. Done well, they are a sign of good writing.
Now, some robot that can’t even tell the difference between home health care and home care is gonna flag our content for being AI generated because we use em dashes?
Seriously? Seriously?
We’re standing on business here to say, no flipping way.
You aren’t taking our em dash away.

Hands Off Our Em Dashes
We were psyched to see one of our favorite content marketing leaders taking a stand, too.
This week, Ann Handley’s newsletter, Total Annarchy, featured a new merch campaign called, “JUSTICE FOR EM DASHES.”
And we are here for it! Use this link to grab some merch and help us in this crusade.
Proceeds benefit a few great charities, so there’s that, too.

Questions about the em dash or other AI misinformation? Drop us a note! We’ll be happy to help.
