Senior Living Web Pages: 6 Tips to Make Them Easier to Read

August 6, 2019

Formatting Your Senior Living Web Page

Have you checked your analytics to see if your bounce rate is high?

While there are a variety of reasons for that, one you should check out is how easy your senior living web pages are for visitors to read.

We’ve all visited sites where there is way too much copy, presented in one long rambling message, right?

Your eyes automatically glaze over and you can’t hit the return arrow to get out of there fast enough.

If you are wondering how to avoid that and keep people on your memory care or assisted living site longer, we have a few quick tips you can very easily implement.

Tips for making senior living web pages easy to read

6 Tips for Improving Your Senior Living Web Pages

Let’s start by thinking about how you flash through a page when you visit for the first time.

If you are like most people, it’s a quick scan and review. Headlines and sub-heads better grab your attention or you are outta there.

And you don’t want to be overwhelmed with huge blocks of copy, right?

It’s one of the most common complaints from website visitors who bounce off a site quickly.

Senior living content that answers questions

You can attract families and keep them on your senior living website longer by paying attention to a few details like these.

  1. Headers: Use headers and sub-heads to tell readers what’s coming up and why they should hang around
  2. Bulleted lists: Break up big blocks of content by utilizing bullets and lists like we’ve done here
  3. Relevant images: Always include a few images on each page to add to the visual appeal
  4. White space: Leave ample white space on each page to give the eye a little breathing room
  5. Succinct: Long paragraphs and complex sentences aren’t friendly for the online reader so chop them up and keep them short
  6. Visual: Utilize different colors and typesof  fonts for pumping up the visual appeal, just don’t go overboard

While we know things change quickly in Google-land, right now they seem to be favoring longer articles.

That makes it all the more important to learn how to craft your web pages in a way that avoids overwhelming visitors with too much content.

Even if your content is great, you’ve gotta keep folks on your site long enough to read it.
